About Our Sunday School Program
Our Sunday school program welcomes children ages 2 through 5th grade.
All children, regardless of family membership status, are invited to participate in the A.R.K.
Our Sunday school classes are designed to share God’s amazing love, familiarize children with the Bible and envelop the children in their faith community and traditions.
- Two and three-year olds use the curriculum "God Loves Me" which uses picture books toillustrate major stories from the Bible. The children meet in a developmentally appropriate classroom and hear the day's story through music, finger play and storytelling.
- Four and five-year old pre-schoolers use an adapted curriculum written in-house to explore Bible stories through various interest centers such as art, music, drama and play. They cover the same themes as the older children in their developmentally appropriate classrooms.
- Kindergarten through 5th graders participate in rotation workshops, in which the curriculum is taught through eight different workshops: art, music & movement, storytelling, cooking, science, computer lab, theatre and recreation. We use the Power Xpress curriculum.
More about workshop rotation… the children study one lesson (i.e., the story of creation) for 3 to four weeks, learning it in different ways through the activities offered by the workshops. This model of teaching is based on the belief that children learn best by approaching information through different “intelligences”.
Registration
Ministries to children and their families encourages families to register their children for Sunday school. Registrations are accepted at any time throughout the year and visitors are always welcome.
We maintain a database which allows us to keep you updated on upcoming events and activities, as well as include you in our weekly family email.
To register, download the document, print it, complete it, and return to our office.
Downloadable Registration/Medical Release Form
Please make sure to also complete the medical release form. This aids us in meeting your child's needs in case of an emergency.
