Trip Information

The Portland Transformation Trip is a week (Tu. - Sat.) of experiencing the inner city, learning about factors that impact poverty, and participating in God’s deep love and care for those who live on the streets. In response to God’s extravagant grace, we believe our faith calls us to continually grow in compassion for others and the world around us, and seek justice for the common good. During the Portland Transformation Trip we will engage with homelessness, racial diversity, and God’s heart for the marginalized. Our hope is that this trip will make us more aware of these same things in our own city and motivate us to actively be involved in changing the status quo.

We will be serving with Because People Matter (BPM), an organization that partners with various inner city ministries and knows a great deal about the workings of inner Portland. More information about BPM can be found here.


Registration Instructions

Step 1: Completely fill out and submit the online registration form below.

Step 2: Completely fill out and submit an up-to-date medical information form. More info below.

Step 3: Download and completely fill out the Liability Form Packet. Return it to MIPC c/o MIPC Youth via email or hard copy no later than Dec. 15th. More info below.

Step 4: Pay the $100 deposit online or via check no later than Dec. 15th. More info below.


Cost & Payments

Initial Deposit: $100

Total Cost: $375 (Includes deposit)

To ensure your student’s spot on the trip, a non-refundable fee of $100 is due before December 15th. If you decide to cancel your student’s spot please contact us immediately. The final payment of $275 is due no later than January 15th, 2020.

Partial scholarships are available and are completely confidential. Please indicate interest on the registration form below.


Medical Information Form

An up-to-date medical information form and release is needed for each student that participates in activities with MIPC Youth Ministries.  

If you already submitted an up-to-date online medical form during the 2019-2020 school year, you do not need to re-submit unless your information has changed.


Liability Form Packet

The Liability Form Packet includes both BPM and MIPC Youth’s release forms. Please download, completely fill out and sign all pages, and return to MIPC before December 15th. Signed forms can be scanned and returned via email to christianh@mipc.org.

If your student will be 18 years old at the time of the trip please have them fill out and sign the Liability Form Packet for Adults (18+).


Packing List & Medication

Our suggested packing list includes prohibited items and a medication form. If your student requires medication during the trip a medication form must be filled out and included with the medication at drop off on the morning of the trip.

Scholarships
We don't ever want money to be a barrier for your/your student's involvement! Scholarship money is available to assist students and families with program and event payments who would otherwise be unable to participate due to financial reasons. We ask that you would pay as much as you are able, so that we are able to assist as many families as we can. All requests are confidential.
