ARK Prayer Vigil
MIPC is hosting a two day prayer vigil as a part of the "Building Inside Out Campaign" and we will participate on Thursday March 29th from 4-5pm.
Children are invited to experience prayer stations during Holy Week. Join Kim and Teressa as we explore what prayer is, why
we pray, and different ways to pray.
Parents and kids are invited to these milestone moments to learn and grow together, creating dialogue about our worship life and what we believe. The role of the parents/guardians is critical to the faith growth of children. Faith events equip parents to keep the promises made at a child's baptism.
BLESSING OF THE BACKPACKS
MIPC sends all our children back to school every fall by inviting them to bring their backpacks to worship and encircling the kids with prayers, offering a blessing for their school year.
In this class we explore and learn about different types of prayer and why we pray.
GRADE 1: WORSHIP WORKSHOP
This class helps children gain a better understanding what we are doing when we worship. Also, every Sunday a child leads us in worship by lighting the Christ candle, reminding us that the light of the world is with us. Parents and children hear the story of the light and are trained in how to light the candle in worship. Children are invited to assist in the part of worship that means the most to them personally.
GRADES 2: BIBLE
This class talks more in depth about the Bible and helps prepare the 2nd graders to receive their own Bible. Did you know the Bible is a library of 66 books? Parents and their children are invited to Sunday School Class and to worship, when children will be presented with their own Bible.
GRADE 3: LORD'S PRAYER
Jesus taught this prayer to his disciples when they asked Jesus to teach them how to pray. Found in both Luke and Matthew passages, we will explore what the different parts of the prayer mean.
GRADE 4: THE STABLE VISIT
On a cold December night, children and their guests walk a short journey to a stable on Mercer Island. Jesus Christ’s birth story comes alive through a multi-sensory experience of visiting a real stable where we read the Christmas story and wonder what it must have been like on that first Christmas night.
GRADE 5: THE LAST SUPPER
5th Graders explore the meaning of the Last Supper and prepare for Holy Week.
Faith Events are during the 9:15 Sunday School Hour with the exception of the 4th grade Faith Event which will be at night.
CHILDREN & YOUTH SUNDAY
Children of all ages are invited to help lead worship at the 8:15, 10:35, and 5pm worship services.
