All God’s People

The mission of the Diversity Committee is to help Mercer Island Presbyterian Church become a community of all God’s people and to develop lasting friendships that cross racial/ethnic boundaries in our community and the world.

The diversity effort at MIPC is all about our faithfulness to our calling as Christ's disciples. Its motivation is spiritual. We make this effort because we believe that God, who created such rich diversity in humankind, desires that we love one another across all racial and ethnic lines, and that we demonstrate such love within our faith community. It is a demonstration that the world is hungry for. Jesus said, “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another”.
