Worship Life at MIPC
The heart of our life as a faith community is worship. It is the expression of our praise and thanksgiving to God, the affirmation of our faith in Jesus Christ and the celebration of God’s Spirit in our midst.
At Mercer Island Presbyterian Church, worship is designed to draw us into a deeper awareness of God’s presence and God’s desire to change and challenge our lives.
Sunday worship services offer childcare for children birth–age 3.
Sundays at MIPC (Sept-June)
7:30am - Breakfast in the Community Life Center
A delicious continental buffet breakfast is available starting at 7:30 am. Find a seat around a table, then go through the buffet line, pour yourself a cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate, or purchase a latte! Suggested donation for breakfast is approximately $4/adults and $3/children, depending upon your selections.
8:15am - Breakfast Worship Service in the Community Life Center
While the sermon and scriptures are the same for all services, the breakfast service is more relaxed and family / child friendly. We worship while seated around tables (supplied with crayons + paper for kids) after a great time of fellowship and breakfast. The 8:15am Music Team leads us in praise music and hymns. Children 4 years old through 2nd grade are invited to leave mid-service to the Children’s Worship Center, where they will hear a story based on the day’s scripture passage and/or lectionary. Children 3 years and younger are welcome in our Nursery Care Center.

10:35am - Traditional Worship Service in the Sanctuary
This service reflects our rich heritage in Reformed worship. The liturgies are written each week by our Worship Pastor, and are fresh and relevant to our daily lives. We experience sacred music of all styles, periods and cultures. Each week our music ministry enhances worship, utilizing our large pipe organ which lends a mighty support for congregational singing, along with a variety of choirs, orchestra and ensembles. The music offered is especially designed to support the week's message and the liturgy, weaving the scriptural theme of the day throughout. Children 4 years through 2nd grade are invited to leave mid-service to the Children’s Worship Center, where they will hear a story based on the day’s scripture passage and/or lectionary. Children 3 years and younger are welcome in our Nursery Care Center. Families may also choose to sit in our soundproof “Family Room” adjacent to the Sanctuary. Headsets are available at this service for the hearing impaired and large print hymnals are also available.
5pm-Evening Worship Service in the Sanctuary
This service is led musically by the Evening Worship Arts team and features contemporary Christian music and hymns with a variety of instruments and styles. This service has much of the same content as the morning, yet is more informal.
