Job Title: Director of Middle School Ministries

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Director of Ministries to Students and Their  Families

Direct Reports:  N/A

Hours/Work schedule: 40 hours per week

Exempt/Non-exempt: Exempt

Job Definition: The Director of Middle School Ministries is a touch point for Middle School students and their families, members and non-members alike. The Director nurtures participants to discover an informed and enthusiastic love of, and relationship with, Jesus Christ; and an understanding and belief in the role Christ plays in their lives, the live of their families, and those in the world at large, so that they may enjoy and glorify God now and forever.                                                                                                                                                                 

Specific Job Responsibilities and Duties:
•    Develop and maintain relationships with middle school students and adults of all ages in a warm, encouraging and compassionate manner
•    Collaborate with and under the direction of Director of Ministries to Students and their Families.
•    Communicate the complexity of Scripture in faithful and relevant terms to students.
•    Create and lead a Sunday morning Christian Education program including curriculum, structure, and leadership for Middle School students.
•    Develop and implement meaningful ongoing local mission partnerships and opportunities for students and their families.
•    Work with student ministries staff, including elders, in the daily administration of the department including developing, organizing, evaluating and enriching the administrative duties to better meet the needs of students and their families.

•    Strong Christian faith & servant’s heart
•    Ability to relate to Middle school students and adults of all ages in a warm, encouraging, and compassionate manner
•    Demonstrated teaching ability in formal and informal settings.
•    Ability to work collegially in a large church staff and assist in shepherding and leading the student ministries staff.
