 New opportunities for Singers this season!
Choral music is newly organized this season and should offer a variety of opportunities to participate, demanding commitments which are shorter term. One can choose to join the Chancel Choir for 8-10 weeks in the fall/winter/spring. The Chancel Choir is the anchor choir for worship at the 10:35 service. This year the choir will be used in worship creatively, singing portions of liturgy as well as choir anthems.
The Women’s Choir , open to all women high school through adult, assembles on Nov. 1 and goes to Nov. 18. This is a perfect opportunity to rehearse together, pray together and get to know each other, as we prepare for worship at 10:35 in November. Reach out by inviting your friends and neighbors to join you for this short, three week musical experience, singing beautiful music written especially for treble voices. There is one more opportunity for women’s choir this season, with one rehearsal for Father’s Day worship in June.

Chancel Choir Needs Singers in January! The next group for singers high school age through adult in January is the Chancel Choir. Whether or not you have sung in the Chancel choir or any other choir previously, you are welcome to come to rehearsals in January to prepare to lead worship at our 10:35 service. This session runs 5 weeks from Jan. 3 through Feb. 6, which is Ash Wednesday. Those joining this short term group will be committing to 5 Thursday evening rehearsals and 5 Sunday morning worship services. This choir session ends on Feb. 6, as we sing for Ash Wednesday worship. This short session is a great oppotunity for those of you who enjoy singing and would like to share in worship leadership, but do not have the time for a long term commitment. The Gospel Music Choir will form on February 7 for three weeks, presenting Gospel music during Black History Month. This will be fun music which will allow us to “cut loose” as we celebrate this rich heritage with our African American friends and neighbors.
A Select Chamber Choir is scheduled to begin February 28 for three weeks. This group will have the opportunity to sing slightly more difficult repertoire and will lead in morning worship for three Sundays in Lent. Auditions for this group will take place this fall.
