Children & Worship

Worship is an integral part of our identity as Christians and a faith community, and all children are welcome in worship and encouraged to participate. Our denomination supports this belief as seen in the Presbyterian Book of Order (W-3.1004), which states that “children bring special gifts to worship and grow in the faith through their regular inclusion and participation in the worship of the congregation.” Children are invited to worship with their families at all three worship services.

Children are also invited to lead in worship. Some may choose to light the worship candle, read scripture or bring in the communion elements. If you think your child might be interested in being a worship leader in the morning services, please contact Eliana.

Both morning services also offer a special Time With Children talk and a monthly children's musical offering.

The Worship Center

Children ages 4 through 2nd grade are dismissed right before the sermon to the Temple for a special children’s sermon. Using Dr. Jerome Berryman’s Godly Play curriculum, the children are introduced to worship concepts, spiritual disciplines and biblical narratives.Children 3 years old and younger are provided with loving care in our Nursery facility during all worship services and Sunday school hour.

We invite you to take few moments and read our Children in Worship brochure and learn more about how MIPC welcomes and encourages children in the vital life of worship!
